It really came as a big surprise to anybody that knows Scott Forstall very well when Apple made it open recently through a press release that two of their industrious executives will soon be leaving the company.
This is really sad news to those that love Scott. Moreover, Scott himself seems not to be smiling at the moment. Hence, there are tensions in Cupertino, California. Apart from Scott, Apple also sacks another top executive, John Browett.
John Browett seems to be leaving the company because of his continuous mistakes in the company’s retail store since his arrival from Dixons, a big electronic store in Britain. Moreover, he has been under severe criticisms just within nine months he has been with Apple. So report has it that he will be leaving the retail unit at the moment for Cook to take over while a competent executive is sought for.
Before the sacking saga, Scott used to be in charge of the iOS that runs iPad and iPhone. Of course, he was next to the CEO, Tim Cook and one of the most influential executives in Apple. According to the press release from Apple, Scott can still remain in the company for now but as an advisor till the end of the year when he will be leaving forever.
Apparently, this news is startling considering what Scott has done for the company and how long he has stayed with them. Besides, it is the software of his team that keeps Apple’s new devices moving.
However, it can still be remembered that he was the person responsible for the criticisms Apple’s Maps software received through social networks sometime in the past. Of course, Apple had to plead for understanding for the inconveniences the Map caused their users and also promised to make enough improvement with a different application.
A report from an anonymous source has it that Scott had also brought other discomforts for Apple apart from the erroneous Apple’s Maps he introduced. Therefore, some executives in the company have been positioned to pick up from where he stopped.
Tim Cook is said to be optimistic that the recent reshuffling will ginger better relationship between software and hardware teams in the firm.
