The new iPod, iPhone and iPad devices make use of the Apple’s Lightening adapter. Sure, the latest Apple power connector has taken the place of the former 30-pin dock adapter.
In US, the adapter is sold for $19 in Apple store while the in UK, the difference is clear. It is sold for £15 in UK while it is sold for €19 in other countries in Europe.
Apparently, all other smartphones go together with the high quality Micro USB adapter. This explains why Apple’s Lightening to Micro USB adapter was the first to surface. Moreover, all smartphones in Europe can’t do without it.
