Nevertheless, there was not recorded a massive number of people who did buy VR devices, even if there exist a broad range of such products from which customers could choose. The main idea which got stuck in the mind of every consumer is that this type of technology needs to be tested several times before deciding if it’s worth the money, making a costly investment.
On the other hand, there exist a lot of tech companies which have invested their time and resources to develop their products. That means a lot of work, experiments, money, research, testing. All these might be in vain for some developers who did their best to provide their most accurate service to their customers. The tech giants that decided to gear up together are very hopeful, trusting the fact that VR industry is the next big thing.
All these tech giants who are listed among the greatest companies on the VR market have formed the Global Virtual Reality Association (GVRA). The businesses that are part of the organization are Sony Interactive Entertainment, Acer Starbreeze, Oculus, HTC Vive, Samsung, and Google, being the top players in the virtual reality industry.
The primary goal of the Global Virtual Reality Association is to promote the responsible adoption and evolution of VR technology. The members of this corporation will create and share practices, bringing the international VR community together and conducting several useful types of research. This group will also constitute a central resource for policymakers and customers interested in VR.
The GVRA will determine the creation of certain standards regarding the hardware and software of their devices.
