Mike Schroepfer, chief technology officer at Facebook, presented the company`s ascending in this zone, since they have bought Oculus Rift in 2014. He suggested that the virtual reality technology developed by Facebook could come out later this year. Many have asked why a social platform would be interested in the features of VR technology and why did Facebook purchase the Oculus Rift. Mike Schroepfer responded that virtual reality represents another means of communication and getting in touch with people.
Facebook`s Messenger will also be taken care of in the future. The company will release the Messenger Platform, so that developers will be able to get new apps to function especially for the new platform, which makes it really exciting for the users that will have a lot more ways to share content on Messenger. But that`s not all. In a few weeks, Facebook will also release a new technology which will allow customers to directly speak the companies. It is called Business on Messenger and it is still being tested at the moment.
Everybody enjoys sharing new, interesting or funny videos on Facebook. This area will also be developed by the American social platform. Videos shared through Facebook will have an embed code, which will make it possible for the users to upload these videos on various websites. The 360-degree technology will also be integrated into Facebook. Imagine how great this will work with the virtual reality. Just put on your VR headset and explore any video on Facebook freely.
These are the most important announcements made at the F8 Conference and they have surely brought wide interest upon Facebook`s future as a complete platform.
