Impressive camera technology seems to be the current innovative trend in the smartphone industry. Nokia Lumia PureView boasts the best camera right now and Sony is supposedly working to come close to it. Samsung is making its way to the limelight with its Galaxy S4 Zoom, a camera phone with an impressive 16 MP camera, according to latest info from Samsung tipster SamMobile.
Galaxy S4 Zoom will be Samsung’s first camera-centric phone with the same optical ability of the Samsung Galaxy Camera released at the 2012 IFA event. The phone will feature advanced software features as well. It will be capable of utilizing both cameras simultaneously, embedding sound into pictures, and capturing various frames at once. You can also share photos via social networks.
Another important feature expected in the device is a lens with a 10x optical zoom capability. In fact, this feature is behind the name – Zoom – of the Galaxy S4 variant. While the Galaxy S4 is still hot in the market, since its launch in March 2013, Samsung is working proactively to release four variants of the Galaxy S4 by the close of this year. The S4 Zoom is expected around June-July.
The display will likely be a 4.3-inch qHD AMOLED screen. Other features include 8 GB storage, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and microSD slot for expandable memory up to 64 GB. The device will run on Android Jelly Bean OS with Samsung’s proprietary Touch Wiz Nature UX interface. The RAM details are yet to be revealed, and the processor is likely to be a dual or quad-core chip.
Codenamed SM-C1010, the camera-centric S4 variant will come in black and white colors. The incorporation of advanced camera technology is rather astounding, but will it affect the overall performance and design?
