Rumours of the Phone X have been around for some time now. Google’s almost mythical device is oft talked about but has never had any official confirmation. During the time the device has been rumoured Google has acquired mobile phone manufacturer Motorola, and it has put the company to good use in developing what is now the Motorola Phone X.

The latest rumours concerning Phone X confirm what we have long suspected, and that is this device is going to be special. How special? Well ground breaking and innovative according to Australian tech site SmartHouse. One Telstra executive by the name of Hugh Bradlow (likely an alias) has said that Phone X is a game changer.

Google is of course already in the smartphone business with its Nexus range that includes the impressive LG Nexus 4. However, up until Phone X the company has always had third party manufacturers build its handsets. The purchase of Motorola means that Google now has an in house division that is well versed in phone construction.

“(Phone X is) a real breakthrough,” and will, “put pressure on Samsung and Apple,” when it goes on sale in July. Bradlow also says “Google has been working on this device for a long time. It has software features and capabilities that are not available on a Samsung Galaxy smartphone or an Apple iPhone. The software is really powerful.”

Google’s chief Larry Page has recently hinted that Phone X is going to break the mould in terms of smartphone design, saying that it would be more durable than any handset before it, and have a vastly better battery life. There are no solid spec details regarding Phone X, although most commentators agree that it is likely to be the vessel that firsts carries the newest version of Android upon release.
