Even before the release of Android 4.3, rumors are pointing to its appearance on forthcoming smart devices. The most recent leak from @LLabTooFeR claims that HTC One will get the Android 4.3 update in the coming weeks, probably July.
HTC One, the current flagship of HTC, is running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. If the leak is true, the device must get an Android 4.2 upgrade by June before it is ready for the latest Android iteration. The leak comes from the same source which recently said that HTC One Nexus will get the Android 4.3 in July. The Nexus Edition of HTC One will launch on June 26th with Android 4.2 under the hood.
To put things in perspective, the HTC One Nexus will receive the upgrade first – days after its release – because Nexus devices get their updates directly from Google. The regular HTC One’s turn will come after HTC tests the upgrades with the Sense 5 UI. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Nexus, which will also hit the Google Play Store on June 26th with Android 4.2.2, will get Google’s preferential treatment for the latest upgrade.
At its I/O event, Google chose to maintain that the Android 4.2 is the most recent iteration of the OS. Nevertheless, rumors that Google will launch the next version are quite strong. The Android 4.3 has yet to be announced officially, but until now it is assumed to be a version of Jelly Bean and is mainly touted for its performance enhancements including advanced Bluetooth features.
Yet another report from Technos Amigos shows a list of HTC devices, including HTC EVO 4G LTE, HTC One and One X, lined up for an Android 4.3 update in the fourth quarter this year. They are not official announcements from Google or HTC, but it must be mentioned that the supposed upgrade would be a huge leap.
