The iFest is about to begin. iPods, iPads and iPhones are going to heat up tonight as the newest iOS 9 operating system hits users today. You’ve probably stopped reading after the first sentence but, if you are still with us, we want to go a quick run-through the iOS 9 and tell you everything we know so far. So buckle up and enjoy the ride because there are some things we need to talk about.
When we are talking iOS 9, we are talking about big improvements: battery saving mode, greater battery life and even a slight improvement to the well-known Notes app, which will enrich your Apple experience. Wednesday definitely seems to be a great day for all iUsers. That is, if you get past the downloading process, which is widely known for being excruciatingly painful.
As you might already be accustomed to, when all users literally pile up on the download servers, everything becomes a little faster than a snail. Even now, Twitter is filled with frustration posts about how hard it is to download 1 Gb.
The trick is that, if you want to get the iOS fast, you’d best wait for a couple of hours before attempting to download it. The chances are that other people might have got the operating system, so the more “free space” the server can have, the better downloading experience you will have.
Once you leave the downloading process behind, the true fun begins. Get ready for a way smarter Siri than what you were used to. Siri can now obey a good number of commands you give her such as “I want to see my pictures from Nevada” and she can also automatically start music when you put your headphones on. Moreover, she knows your taste and activate an audiobook of your favorite songs.
The healthkit has also seen some major improvements, being able to tell you about your health, how exposed you are to the sun and how dehydrated you are.
Searching has also become way more user friendly than it has ever been with a new feature that Apple calls “search deep”. With this feature, you can find specific information within other aps that you cannot remember. What is also very important is that the search feature is private. If you want to search about the traffic in the area, nobody will be able to track your iPhone down because it doesn’t leave any traces.
There are other more interesting features such as improved multi-tasking and extended battery life, which you will definitely feel once you try the new system. But we don’t want to spoil too much for you, so you’ll just have to wait and see how awesome the new iOS 9 is.
