Samsung Inc has just announced the release of a red and gold Iron Man themed Samsung Galaxy S6 that will have every Avengers fan out there fighting crime and crowds to get their hands on one since it’s limited edition.
After painful period of teasing fans with the promise of a potential Iron Man Themed Samsung Galaxy S6, merely showing an Iron Man casing hiding in the dark, the company has finally released a video for the product this past Tuesday, offering a clear look at it.
The smartphone will not only have the hero’s face on its back, but it will also be colored in red and gold, Iron Man’s well known signature colors.
And it is not a feature that only applies design wise. The phone’s OS theme is also based on Iron Man and other characters from the Avengers franchise when it comes to wallpaper and color pallets.
In an even better attempt at merchandizing on a billion dollar franchise, it won’t just be the phone that’s Iron Man themed, but the lucky customers who end up with one of the devices will also receive an Iron Man themed Arc Reactor core wireless charger to go along with the phone.
The Iron Man version of the Galaxy S6 Edge will mainly have the same hardware as any regular Samsung Galaxy S6. The only exception is the added bonus of the 64GB internal storage space in the Iron Man edition.
The limited edition Iron Man Themed Samsung Galaxy S6 devices will first be available for purchasing in Korea, starting with May 27. It will then move on to markets in China and eventually Hong Kong in June.
The release is a strategic one as the phone’s release date coincides with the Asian release date of the movie Avengers 2 Age Of Ultron.
The Iron Man themed Samsung Galaxy S6 is a direct consequence of a partnership that Marvel, the company that owns the character of Iron Man, inked with Samsung Inc last summer, in June 2014.
The deal is a mutually beneficial one as it serves to find cross-promotional opportunities between movies and electronic devices.
