In the U.K. 2019 I-PACE will retail for $87,152 since the price contains a hefty value added tax. In the U.S., the lower pre-tax price will make the brand more competitive in the luxury segment for electric cars. For years, Tesla has been the strongest competitor with tis Model X.
However, the two electric vehicles (EV) are not exactly the same. Model X can accommodate seven passengers, while Jaguar’s EV seats only five passengers. Also, Tesla offers its Model X in different versions with various battery sizes.
For price, Model X drivers can upgrade their crossover SUV to a car that can hit 295 after one charge. What’s more, Tesla cars have access to a wide network of ‘Superchargers’ in the United States, which enables EV owners to travel long distances.
Jaguar, though, promised to pour more than $1.5 billion in infrastructure and EV technology in the coming years in America. The U.S. has 207 Jaguar dealerships of which 166 are franchises. Those locations have already started to add new equipment to welcome electric vehicles.
Dealerships have also started training staff to understand electric cars and the EV market as a whole. Jaguar knows that other car makers have so fall failed to do so which bit deep into their EV and hybrid sales.
The 2019 I-PACE is expected to hit the U.S. market in the following months as a 2019 model that comes in three flavors: the HSE, SE, and S.
