Lenovo keeps surprising us with unusual and exotic-looking devices which revolutionize the concept of gadget as we know it. The company has recently revealed the prototype of a flexible laptop which you can fold and maneuver however you like. At the moment, it is only a concept, but it might soon become a reality.
Lenovo presents a flexible screen concept
The unusual laptop has a flexible screen which goes right down to the keyboard and lacks a hinge. In fact, this screen is in itself a hinge, since you can fold it like a sheet of paper or a yoga mat. The concept could have been inspired by Microsoft Surface Book, but it should offer you more freedom. A trackpad is not featured, but you can still use it to write on it or to speak to it.
Lenovo didn’t reveal any official date when the exquisite device should hit the markets. In fact, there’s no guarantee that it will ever take form, since the company claims there’s no time to produce such a device yet. However, we don’t rule out the possibility that, one day, it might become a reality.
Will we actually see this concept become a reality?
Even so, we have some reasons to doubt this. Flexible screens exist, but this is quite a brave concept. The sad truth with brave concepts is the fact that they either remain in the prototype stage, or turn out less exciting than everybody expects them to.
Also, Lenovo announced that they would use new technologies for the screen, as well as advanced materials, which means only one thing: it might take years until such a flexible laptop becomes a reality. Since Lenovo is the company involved here, the prototype is one thing, while the real-life product would probably turn out completely different.
