Despite the Galaxy Round having the advantage of launch date, the LG G Flex has become the more well known device when it comes to flexible displays. Surprisingly this is not just due to the flexible display, but the self-healing back LG has added onto the G Flex.
The LG G Flex will apparently be released in China and other Asia countries sometime in December and LG is preparing to announce this news at an event on December 2 in Hong Kong. Europe will also be in on the LG G Flex sometime in February 2014, LG may bring the device to MWC 2014.
We are not sure about the US, carriers have become more approving on LG’s flagships but this a smartphone that may not do well when it comes to actual sales. It is one of those smartphones more people want to try out for a day than actual use for two years on a contract deal.
There are some impressive features on the LG G Flex, the flexible 6-inch 720p display with a curve from top to bottom is unique and makes the phone more durable. LG has added a self-healing back for even more durability and will remove marks and scratches on the back of the device after a few hours.
On the internal side the LG G Flex is similar to the LG G2, apart from the smaller battery. Prices should be around the same as a flagship, although Samsung and LG are both putting high-prices in South Korea for the flexible smartphones.
