This summer, a great offering awaits Mega Man fans. Just before this year’s E3, Capcom confirmed the long-circulating rumors and revealed the launch of Mega Man Legacy Collection 2. This amazing collection will gather Mega Man 7, 8, 9, and 10 under a single game. The release is scheduled for this August for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
Sequel to Mega Man Legacy Collection 1
This collection comes as a sequel to the Mega Man Legacy Collection 1, released in 2015. This one represented a revival of the classic, 8-bit side-scrolling games, and brought the first six games in the series on modern consoles. However, none of the games suffered a modern remake.
Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 switches from 8-bit to 16- and 32-bit, and brings some new items not present in the original games. More precisely, they will feature some additional content and new challenges. The life of the players should be easier now, with the Extra Armor which cuts damage in half. Also, you can now start the game from where you left it, with the new checkpoint saves.
The second collection brings new elements besides the original content
Capcom didn’t stop here. The company did not want players to get bored, so it introduced an exciting Challenge Mode. By playing this mode, you can compete against other players online and get the chance to occupy a place in the leaderboards.
You probably remember the Museum feature present in the previous collection. Capcom announced this will also make a comeback, bringing a lot of sketches and production art to enhance the appearance of the games. Also, for true fans, the company brings back the beloved music hits present in the classic games, reviving the old school atmosphere everyone enjoyed.
Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is set for release on August 8th, and it will be available for $20 in both a downloadable and a physical form. Capcom promises to announce more on the game at this year’s E3.
