Diversity is the name of the game in the challenging market where there are more rivals that are ready to take you down. Microsoft has now decided to turn to Hollywood and has recently come up with Xbox Entertainment Studio in Santa Monica. The company claims that although Xbox was a gaming machine but with the change in time they need to keep evolving better and better and therefore they have decided to come up with various scripted and interactive programs that will entertain audiences around the world on television. Microsoft believes that they are just focusing on the demand of the audiences around the world.
According to the survey done by Microsoft majority of the 76 million users worldwide prefer to spend time watching television rather than playing games and therefore they are just switching back to what the demand is. Yusuf Mehdi SVP of Interactive Entertainment at Microsoft said that they are just looking out for options based on the market demands. He said that most of the users that make use of Xbox are males but there are 38% users that are females and 51% of the kids use Xbox. The average user normally spends 87 hours before the Xbox device which means that Xbox accounted for 18 billion hours of entertainment in the year 2012.
The company said that the biggest challenge for Microsoft is how to create better interactive programs that are better and very different than the regular channels that already exists. The company is targeting various scripted programs, interactive programs and reality shows that will be the core of the Xbox Entertainment in the future. The company is trying to partner up with more than 100 media partners that will help them to grow in the future. Microsoft claims that they would like to win the living room war with better programs.
