The winner takes it all and this time it is more than clear that we have Facebook as a winner, with 1 billion active users in a day! Although it sound unbelievable, this dream has come true for Mark Zuckerberg’s social network.
On the other hand, it is no wonder that miracles like these happen for Facebook, as the guys have been struggling to keep up the pace and enlarge their pool of users by constantly offering new features, improving their services and adding-up some quality to the news feeds. Users now find it easier to connect, share, make payments, donations, publish, advertise and of course, like and share the news and pictures we can no longer do without. Furthermore, Facebook has embarked on a mission to offer free internet to remote areas in the world, where people are deprived of technology. Well, it was worth their efforts, as one billion active users have been roaming free on the territories of Facebook.
When it happened, CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote on his own private Facebook wall “For the first time ever, 1 billion people used Facebook in a single day. On Monday, one in seven people on Earth used Facebook to connect with their friends and family”. Of course the post has received thousands of likes, as this is a rare event and 1 billion people is quite a number,.
Facebook slowly conquers the realm of the world wide web and sometime in the future all the information will be gathered together, stored and displayed directly in our Facebook news feeds. This is the exact reason why the Facebook masterminds are constantly trying to come up with something new. They want to retain even more users, gain more money, manipulate more information and become one of the world’s greatest powers. Well, Facebook is already one of the world’s greatest powers.
Statistics also show that Facebook had almost 1.5 billion active users who logged in at least once in a month, at the end of the second quarter. Furthermore, the company has hit the 1 billion mark in this matter in October 2012.
The next great step Facebook will be making is to add a personal assistant, M, which will be a direct competitor to Siri. M will help you manage your daily routine tasks, helping you find anything, from the nearest drugstore to answers for philosophical questions. M will be powered by artificial intelligence that is trained and supervised by people.
