The Nexus 7 2 can well be considered Google’s worst kept secret considering we know much of the tablet, except of course the all too important release date. However, we might have hit upon some interesting findings which could well be the last piece of the Nexus 7 2 puzzle, the release date.
According to Best Buy’s internal inventory report that got leaked online, the next gen Nexus tablet will be launched on 30th July. We have had rumors before all of which has mentioned late July as the likely release date of the new gen Nexus tablet. Sure we have the ‘Breakfast With Sunder’ event planned tomorrow when the new head of Google’s Android division is expected to clear quite a few doubts. These will include the formal announcement of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean along with a mention of the next Nexus 7 inch tablet as well, if not a prolonged and extensive discussion.
Needless to say, the Nexus branded device, or for that matter any other device running Android that is nearest to a launch right now is the new gen Nexus 7 tablet. As such, it is the Nexus 7 2 that has the highest probability of being the launch device of the new Android version even though the update itself can be considered a minor one.
As for the specifications of the new Nexus 7 tablet, it’s a vastly improved 1920 x 1200 7 inch display which translates to 323 pixels per inch. Powering the device will be a 1.5 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon chip which will be coupled to a 2 GB RAM for speedy performance. Onboard storage options will continue to be the same 32 GB. The Nexus 7 2 will also be slightly lighter at 317g, a mere 23 g less than the first gen device. Battery for the new device is expected to be the same 4,325mAh as seen on the first gen Nexus 7 tablet.
