And that is what Oracle is focusing on with four new items reported this week. Oracle’s products are said to be at the convergence of Hadoop, NoSQL and SQL innovations, and aim to bring big-data closer to a wider range of business clients.
The new Oracle Big Data Discovery, for instance, is intended to work as the “visual face of Hadoop” for business clients. With an interface planned to provide an experience as common as shopping on the web, it enables clients to both explore information from various sources and plan and review it while sharing the outcomes, all from a single platform.
Among the advantages are expanded support in big-data endeavors by a wider range of business clients and a quicker way to deliver the info, said Hari Sankar, Oracle’s group vice president of big data and advanced analytics. Sankar further remarked:
“Because of today’s data and tool complexity, big-data projects typically take months or years. We want to turn that into days or weeks.”
Oracle’s new GoldenGate for Big Data, is a Hadoop-based platform that permits clients to stream real-time unstructured information from mixt transactional systems into big-data frameworks like Apache Hadoop, Apache Hive, Apache HBase and Apache Flume.
Basically, the item recreates information from framework A to framework B, making it accessible in whatever structures it is needed, as indicated by Neil Mendelson, vice president of big data and advanced analytics at Oracle.
Completing Oracle’s team are also Oracle Big Data SQL 1.1 – providing an improvement in query execution of up to 40 percent compared to past variants – and Oracle NoSQL Database 3.2.5, which has been redesigned with a few new APIs, among other gimmicks.
Oracle’s new big-data products operate on the recently reported Oracle Big Data Appliance X5 and Oracle Exadata Database Machine X5.
As per Oracle, they develop its vision of making Hadoop, NoSQL, and SQL to work jointly and be conveyed safely in any model , whether open cloud, private cloud or an on-premises base.
