What does the new security feature for Android apps bring new for the users?
As you all know, Google allows any app to become a part of the Google Play store and check upon it for removal only after users start reporting malicious behavior. With the new Verify App, all Google Play apps will be regularly monitored (from apps that are installed both from within and from outside the Play store) instead of just scanning them for harmful functionality as they are downloaded and installed to the device. The new security feature will also scan all installs and all in-app installations in order to spot malicious behaviors that an app might develop after the installation.
If you want a comparison, the app will behave a bit like your Windows, as it will show you a warning screen that lets you know you are about to install a harmful app. If the Verify App does indeed find that the app is malicious, it will block it entirely from getting installed. However, if you are sure you want to install the app, you can change the security settings so you can bypass the blocking.
Google’s intents to make the Google Play a healthier, safer environment for all its users and app developers was received with joy by experts and users alike.
