The Lumia 1520 is not a secret weapon, many leakers have got feeds on the device and we have even seen some slip ups internally from Nokia, the latest being the online Chinese store showing the Lumia 1520 before it has been released officially.
This is not something just happening in China, Google recently had the LG Nexus 5 on the store prior to release. It seems web developers cannot wait to make changes to the design of the store and forget to keep the new products behind the scenes.
The leak confirms most of the specs we already know are coming to the Lumia 1520. The 6-inch display is the major factor here, with no Windows Phone device going beyond the five-inch mark and sticking to normal device sizes, the Lumia 1520 will be the first “phablet” device.
There are some inconsistencies, making us believe this is a mere placeholder that happened to get spotted by someone on the website. The 1024×768 resolution and 1,200mAh battery are questionable, especially the latter that would keep the 6-inch smartphone running for a few hours max.
From the rumors and leaks we have heard before, Nokia will add a 1080p display and quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor to the Lumia 1520, alongside a huge 3000mAh battery to keep the phone running for hopefully longer than a day.
Pricing in China is around $800/900 off contract, but we can see the Finnish company tailoring the price to meet regional demands. It will probably come for $199/299 on contract in the US or $699/799 off contract, depending on how confident Nokia are with the phablet.
