In the future, Netflix will prepare to implement a offline playback assistance, determining, even more users to follow them. Spotify, which is another streaming service, has already adopted this practice and it proved to be very prosperous. Netflix is currently in a developmental process when it comes to this update. Even if this represents a very popular streaming service, due to its competitive spirit, it will raise its number of customers when the new feature is introduced.
The library of this service provider will be available for all their users to download. Thus, this online feature will allow customers to use the streaming service offline. The update will introduce the video playback with no internet connection. This playback offline assistance seems to bring nothing but benefits to its customers.
The first rumor about the new feature had occurred back in October. The company was claiming that the new improved streaming service will be available within two months. Ted Sarandos, who is the chief content officer of Netflix, has argued that this kind of update can come in handy for those who are situated in locations with a low-speed internet.
He claimed that every area has a particular level of Wi-Fi access and broadband speed. Their idea is prone to help their service expand over the globe, reaching undeveloped areas, finding any suitable alternative to broaden the possibility of anyone who wants to use Netflix.
The developers of this feature working for Netflix have argued that the playback offline assistance may not be available for the US. Firstly, the primary purpose of the company is to reach those countries which low-speed internet connection, which would need the app.
Sarandos has asserted that the new service will be available soon, without mentioning an exact date or month. The new feature will enable every user who has a subscription to download a movie from the library of Netflix and then watch it without connecting to the internet.
This idea which is bound to be introduced soon was ultimately rejected by Redd Hastings, the CEO, back in 2014. He asserted that the offline playback assistance is unnecessary since everyone nowadays has somehow access to an internet connection. Last April, the company had softened up to the idea of implementing the new concept.
