Microsoft surprised us again with a new announcement during the E3 press conference. The surprise consists of a sequel to the popular indie game Ori and the Blind Forest, called Ori and the Will of the Wisps. It will soon be available on Xbox One and Windows 10, but no official date has been revealed yet.
Surprise announcement of the sequel
A leak could have indicated that an Ori sequel was in the making, but no one seemed to have taken it too seriously. However, this became clear during the press conference before E3. A pianist came on stage, accompanied by the iconic dreamy music typical of the game. Then, the scene was completed with fantasy visuals, and everything was clear.
After the first game gathered so many fans, Microsoft decided that it deserved a second title to continue the story and the adventures of Ori. Therefore, Ori and the Will of the Wisps will come for both Xbox One and Windows 10. The announcement wouldn’t have been complete without a trailer, which is a true tearjerker, preparing players of the emotions to come in the game.
Can you watch the trailer until the end without crying?
The trailer doesn’t present the plot too much, and it concentrated more on the visual side of the game. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is adorned with the same intricate environments present in the first title, as well as some strange new creatures.
As mentioned before, the trailer comes with plenty of emotional moments, which will make it difficult to hold your tears. Players, get ready to unleash your feeling and jump into one of the most touching games out there.
Microsoft revealed no release date for Ori and the Will of the Wisps, but more details will be here soon. The company might have some surprises left for E3 as well, so stay tuned for more information.
