Lately, several rumors and leaks have revealed the design and features of iPhone 8. Some of them almost confirmed a big part of these feature during the 10th anniversary of Apple’s iPhone. Nevertheless, people should expect surprises. A new rumor introduces the idea that the fingerprint sensor of this new smartphone will be on the back panel. Thus, this new claim debunks previous rumors which were indicating that the fingerprint scanner would be incorporated in the display.
The new iPhone 8 will have a fingerprint scanner on the back
Apparently, if the rumors are true, the new iPhone 8 will look very similar to Samsung Galaxy S8. Some speculate that the new smartphone will sport a 5.8-inch OLED display with no edges on the sides. Nevertheless, they say that the curves appear only for visual appeal. Since people were informed that Apple decided to expand the display of the new iPhone 8 and gave up the home button in exchange for the fingerprint sensor which seemed to be placed on the screen.
However, iDrop News reports that the Touch ID fingerprint sensor is bound to be located on the rear of the smartphone like in the case of Galaxy S8. Earlier this month, some rumors suggested that the new smartphone will feature the custom fingerprint sensor of Apple. Nevertheless, the sensor is believed not to be ready for production yet, being introduced starting in September.
Apple will celebrate iPhone’s 10th anniversary soon
If it is included in the manufacturing process in September, then it will most likely launch in November. Probably, Apple chose to implement the rear-mounted scanner to launch the smartphone just on time. This does not mean that every time you use the phone, you need to authenticate by using the Touch ID. Rumor has it that the new iPhone 8 is expected to equipped with a 3D sensor module which could support facial recognition technology.
Other sources have come up with the idea that the new iPhone 8 will not have a ceramic or glass back panel as they had previously thought. Apple decided to use the metal back panel because the rest of the prototypes were not successful when performing drop tests. iDrop News stated that the new flagship would be called iPhone Edition, not iPhone 8.
Because the device will celebrate its 10th anniversary, the name should be special. Irrespective of the rumors, people expect to see what the features will be.
