Samsung has been maintaining a steady flow of updates to its various smartphone devices though that is restricted largely to the newer models. For the last half year, however, there has been a decline in the updates that Samsung been releasing, and this is specially affecting the older models from the company.
Case in point, the Samsung Galaxy S Advance (and that too some variants of it) which received the Android 4.1 update in January. Since then no further updates have been released by Samsung. There is however some hope that Samsung would be coming up shortly with the Jelly Bean version compatible for the Galaxy S Advance.
The reason for the excitement is due some regions like Ukraine, Poland and Germany that is reportedly getting the Jelly Bean (I9070XXLQE) for their Galaxy S Advance handsets already. Samsung Ukraine had officially announced the release date of the Jelly Bean upgrade to be slated in April end. That date had slipped but finally the region does have the update now.
Users are able to download the Jelly Bean Update for their Samsung Galaxy S Advance model via the Samsung KIES. Users would need to connect their Smartphone to the PC via the USB cable for affecting the download and install the update.
The major changes which would be observed after the upgrade are the availability of Google Now on the handset. The TouchWiz UI is also new by looks and feel. It runs smoother than before which should be attributed to the Project Butter tweaks. There are also some Pop-up Play goodies that would be noticed on the gadget after the update.
Other European regions can expect to be covered in the upgrade envelope very soon. Users of the Smartphone S Advance need to keep their eyes open for getting information about the release as and when Samsung does so.
