One of the easiest ways to maintain interest in your amazing flagship smartphone is to every so often release a new colour variation. All the major brands now do that, which is why we never see multiple colour choices at launch any more, well apart from with Nokia. When Samsung launched the Galaxy S3 it was available in “Pebble Blue” and “Marble White” but the company has been adding new colours at a swift rate.
Back in August Samsung enticed us further with “amber brown”, “garnet red”, titanium grey”, and “sapphire black” varieties. While the Galaxy S3 is a barnstorming device and hugely popular, the new colour offerings have kept customers interested in the device by making it seem fresh every few months. With the launch of the Galaxy S4 just 1 week away Samsung has launched a new colour for the S3, to keep interest in its soon to be former flagship.
The new colour to be made available is Purple and so far it has been confirmed on the phone roster of Sprint in the United States, although we expect other carriers around the world to also pick it up. No spec details have been given, but we expect this will be the normal Galaxy S3 with a new colour and that is it. Samsung said the device will be available from April 12th.
That will be a month after the Korean giant launches the much anticipated Galaxy S4, so we suspect a price dropped S3 in a new colour variant will be an attractive deal for those who are not quite able to afford the upcoming Galaxy S4.
Despite coming to the end of its cycle as the company’s number one handset, the Galaxy S3 still has much to offer Samsung, and it is expected to sell in large numbers this year
