While Samsung fans are still engrossed in the just-launched Samsung Galaxy S4, the Korean manufacturer is working on three versions of the Galaxy S4, including Galaxy S4 Mini. Though Samsung has yet to officially announce the launch, sources, including SamMobile, point out to a possible launch in July.
Based on cues that Galaxy S4 Mini will debut in the 29th week, the launch date will fall between July 14th and 20th. The launch will probably be global. Samsung is expected to make an official announcement of its Galaxy S4 family – S4 Mini, S4 Activ and S4 Zoom – at the CTIA 2013 event scheduled to take place from May 20th to 23rd.
Samsung said nothing about the S4 Mini during the Galaxy S4 launch event in March. But, the timing of Galaxy S4 Mini release comes about three months after Galaxy S4 completes a global debut. That seems to correspond with the 2012 Galaxy S3 release, which was followed by smaller version of S3, just three months later. The S3 sold in millions around the world, pushing up Samsung to stand close to Apple’s iPhone.
Expected to come in black and white colors, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will be miniature version of S4 with reduced specifications and a cheaper price tag. It will likely have a 4.3-inch qHD display with a resolution of 960 x 450 pixels.
Apart from its characteristic launch across all the major U.S. carriers, Galaxy S4 touts some amazing features, including a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED display, the latest Android Jelly Bean OS, and new camera modes.
Considering the host of high-end features packed in Samsunga Galaxy S4, it remains to be seen whether Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will make a perfect sibling for Samsung’s new flagship.
