Word on the street right now is that the Serrano aka Galaxy S4 Mini is all set to be the next Samsung device AT&T will lend its support to. The carrier is already offering the current Samsung flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4 though rumor mills are also suggesting all the other variants of the S4 will be included in the AT&T fold as well. These include the Galaxy S4 Activ as well as the Galaxy S4 Zoom, apart from of course the S4 Mini.
The Galaxy S4 Activ is the ruggedized version of the Galaxy S4 and is resistant to water and dust. This should appeal to those who need to carry their smartphones to often harsh environments. The S4 Activ will also enable Samsung to better compete with Sony that has just come out with its Xperia Z device, its latest flagship smartphone that boasts of its water afn dust proofing credentials.
Similarly, the S4 Zoom boasts of a superior integrated camera which is aimed for the shutterbugs. The S4 Zoom is believed to have been provided with a 16 megapixel camera and can be considered to boast of the best features of both the Galaxy camera as well as the Galaxy S4 phone.
Coming back to the S4 Mini, rumors of the device being slated for an AT&T release got a shot in the arm post a tweet from @evleaks that stated the Samsung Serrano, codename of the third Project J phone Galaxy S4 Mini is headed towards AT&T sporting the model number SGH-I257. What adds credibility to the rumor is that @evleaks are fairly accurate with their assumptions.
As for its specs, the S4 Mini is considered a slightly scaled won version of the S4. It’s likely features include a smaller 4.3-inch qHD display, dual or quad core chip, and a 8 megapixel camera. The S4 Mini is also expected to be provided with many of the features currently available on the S4. However, its not known exactly when we can expect the S4 Mini arriving at AT&T.
