The Galaxy S4 has been in the market for a couple of weeks now and it’s time to look at the next flagship phone Samsung will be working on in this series, the Galaxy S5. This phone is slated for a May 2014 release and is supposed to come with some really cool features. Technology is evolving quite fast today and this means that flexible displays cannot be ruled out completely for the Galaxy S5.
It is obvious that there will be improvements in the phone’s processor, GPU and RAM. This doesn’t matter that much though as the phone’s we used today already have enough power.
We have already seen what 3D smartphones can do. They didn’t live up to the hype though and faded away as fast as they came on the scene. With the Galaxy S5, a high quality 3D display may be possible. If they can add a 3D camera to the phone as well, they will already have a winner on their hands.
We all heard of the Galaxy Beam by Samsung. The phone didn’t catch on thanks to its low specifications though. But if Samsung can add the projector feature from this phone to the Galaxy S5, they may just create the best smartphone for 2014.
We did get to see a little more about flexible screens at CES too. We know that flexible screens will allow users to read information from the side of the phone without having to remove the cover. How much the cover will protect the phone in case of a fall is not sure though. Hopefully, Samsung will be able to make them a lot stronger if they do choose to include them in the Galaxy S5.
As always, we are all hoping that Samsung comes out with a great mobile device. We feel this will be the year when the Korean phone manufacturer will finally stop offering additional software features and blow us away with something out of this world.
