Siri will assist you on Apple TV, but you will need to wait until next year to experience this new feature. Apple did point out during Tuesday’s earnings call that the TV would have two good features: Apple Music and Siri Search, but only the former will be implemented in 2015 as Apple seems to have some secret plans for the search feature in the year to come.
Siri is, in fact, one of the most appreciated features that is coming for the new TV and it is widely expected by many users. Some also claim that it is the best feature ever, allowing you to find whatever you need across all your devices. This is pushing the limits of both memory and payment simply because you don’t need to pay for some extra search feature and you also do not have to remember what you have on each device.
But there is a little detail that needs to be taken into consideration: when Cook was asked about the implementation of this new feature, his response was a little but unsatisfying. Cook said that “it should be very simple”. And while this is (sort of) comforting news, it actually makes us wonder if Apple has been working on it or not. It should be simple practically translates into “we’re going to do it soon, we don’t expect to have problems”.
We honestly do not suspect Apple to fail in any way. They will deliver as they have always done, but you cannot help but wonder sometimes whether they are taking some statements seriously or not. If Siri is not yet under “construction” then there is no reason to speak of it at all. Might as well keep it a secret and release it as a total surprise so that people will be instantly blown away by the concept and join Apple by the millions.
Still, these are Apple’s techniques and they play by their own rules, so the only true option that we have is to wait and see how they will perform when the new Siri search will be released. It is quite an interesting concept, easy to use and very useful and it will no doubt help any Apple user and make their lives easier, or perhaps encourage total disorganization. Because hey, you can download anything anywhere, who cares, right?
Siri will assist you on Apple TV and that is everything everyone wants to hear.
