The new Sony camera A6500 develops a lot of new features. When the mirrorless camera A6300 issued last March, it brought a significant contribution to autofocus performance through the help of Fast Hybrid AF system. What it was missing was the presence of image stabilization in the features of other mirrorless cameras. The poor sales revealed the criticism of the buyers. It also lacked a touchscreen for easy autofocus when making a video. The new A6500 brought to the fans exactly what the previous camera failed to have.
What is more, besides from erasing the A6300 mistakes, it also comes with a new processor incorporated. This one can acquire a much more amendable shooting and a different playback experience. Another important feature is that it helps you enlarge the memory buffer to boost the number of pictures during a continuous photo shooting.
The disappointing fact is the lifespan of the battery didn’t increase. It dropped to 310 shots through the viewfinder shooting and with the use of the LCD, it managed to take 350 photos. For the last Sony A6300, the figures were 350 and 400, respectively.
The new Sony A6500 will be available on the market in the US this November and in Europe starting with December. The price for the one that issues in the US is $1,400 and for the one which will appear in Europe will be €1,700 for the body. The whole kit which will contain a zoom lens will be available at the price of €2,800 .
The system of autofocus is the same as in the A6300. Also, the image processor, the sensitivity ranges, the sensor, and the 4K video functionality remained the same. The number of 11 frames per second with autoexposure and autofocus is still promising. The body of the A6500 looks approximately like the one of the A6300, expect the button for programmable function.
Its new abilities, like shooting 233 best-quality pictures or 107 raw photos are uncanny. Regarding image stabilization, the A6500 has a sensor-shift of five-axis which will work wonders with stabilized lenses prone to offer optimal compensation. The camera’s system is valued at five stops of compensation. The new Sony offers the touchpad capability which was first implemented by Olympus.
Are you a photographer? Are you curious to take a few pictures with this new device? Would you spend enough for this camera?
