The good news is that an Israeli company is working on resolving the last problem we mentioned. They have developed the StoreDot battery charger which promises to fully recharge a phone in just 30 seconds. It sounds too good to be true, we know, but apparently it’s true. The StoreDot device is still in a prototype phase and its creators revealed that the charger runs on Quantum Dot Technology.
StoreDot Battery Charger – price and availability
When asked when the device will be available on the market, its developers said that: ”Right now we show a battery that extends beyond the form factor of the smartphone…so in one year we’ll have reached the size, and in two years we’ll reach the required energy density for the entire day. So we are talking about three years for a commercial ready device. So I assume it will be three years before you can actually purchase it on the market.”
The StoreDot battery charger is believed to cost somewhere around $60, which is double than your typical phone charger. We’re hoping that once it gets past the prototype phase the price will go down.
