Microsoft Launches Selfie App for iOS

"Microsoft Launches Selfie App for iOS"

The new selfie app makes photo editing easier.

Taking selfies couldn’t get easier with Microsoft’s newest application, specifically designed to enhance the overall quality of your self-portraits. It would seem that the tech giant wants to aim even higher because Microsoft launches Selfie app for iOs.

As one would might thinks, this move is not uncommon for Microsoft. Earlier this year, the tech giant managed to release Cortana for Android users. It may not be as pretty or powerful as the Cortana we know from Windows phone, but at least, it gets the job done. And no, I do not think that the Cortana app for Android can ever become powerful enough in order to rival with Siri.

Getting back to our selfies app, Microsoft has again managed to baffle its fans, when the tech giant announced that they will soon deliver the selfies application to iOS platforms.

In terms of performance, it would seem that the application has what it needs in order to fulfill all of your selfies-related needs.

The application’s main feature is to automatically enhance the overall quality of your self-portraits by tinkering with several functions such as light settings, skin tone and not to mention with the color palette.

Taking selfies can be considered one of the life’s simple pleasures. And Microsoft wants to keep it this way. These being said, Microsoft slapped the new application with a simple interface, one that can be understood by anyone.

So how does this application work? Upon taking a picture using either the front or the rear camera, the application takes certain variables into account such as your age, skin tone, outside lighting and modifies the picture accordingly.

According to Microsoft, the user is capable of editing the picture on the spot, meaning that you won’t have to open an outside photo editor in order to tinker with your selfies. Moreover, the app can be used in order to modify picture located in your phone’s internal storage.

And if the picture seems to poor, you can always use the 13 additional photo filters provided by the application.

There is only one downside to this application. Apart from other application that lets you share your selfies via social media, Microsoft’s Selfie application won’t let you share your edited selfies.

If you are still interested in downloading the application, then head on over to iOS’s online store and download the Microsoft Selfie application. The only things you’ll ever need are 56.9 MB of free space and a phone compatible with iOS 8.0. No word as to when Microsoft is planning on releasing a version for Android.

Hearthstone A Serious eSport

Blizzard really intends to make Hearthstone a serious eSport.

Hearthstone A Serious eSport

Blizzard really intends to make Hearthstone a serious eSport. You can tell based on their final decision to increase the tournament prize pool to $1 million as well as rearranging the way tournament points work. Needless to say, more and more people are going to look at Hearthstone with a more competitive eye. Prizes like these are bound to catch players’ interest and it is not only for making people play competitively, it is also good for business as well.

But the Hearthstone prize pool increase did not come as much of a shock to many of its players. Hearthstone is the most successful online card game in the world right now and Blizzard have the necessary knowledgebase and cash to keep it alive for many years to come. Not to mention that the game has a very high degree of flexibility: you can keep it as casual as it can get or you can be as competitive as you want to be. The choice is yours and you have all the freedom in the world.

Statistically speaking, the $1 million prize pool is not that much of an investment from Blizzard into their game. Imagine that there are people who spend $60 on a daily basis to get 60 card packs and create super decks. It is safe to assume that Hearthstone is making thousands of dollars every day and the extra cash directed to the first prize is only to ensure that players keep playing their game.

The hearthstone competition has also been risen to a higher level starting with today. Anybody who achieves the well-known Legend Rank is now one step closers to the world championship, but maintaining your Legend rank all year will only be one of the requirements to enter the championship. It looks as if you will be obtaining points from now on and based on these points you will be chosen as a world championship competitor or not.

On top of the world championship changes, Blizzard is also going to be hosting seasonal Hearthstone championships in order to keep its public entertained. Summer, spring and winter competitions will ensure that players stay in touch with their favorite players and also understand how the game is evolving and the winners of each seasonal competition will automatically participate in the world championship.

If Blizzard really intends to make Hearthstone a serious eSport, then they need not worry too much. They seem to be on the right path and they will surely make things work in their favor.
