Get Ready For The PlayStation 5 And Xbox Two

Get Ready For The PlayStation 5 And Xbox Two

Get ready for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two. Quite exciting, isn’t it? It appears that we might have these consoles sooner than anticipated, simply because nowadays’ technology allows it. Both consoles are expected to hit the shelves by the time we reach 2020 and, if this even occurs, it will be the first time ever when the gaming world will witness it unfold. This could change the entire perception that we have about next gen consoles.

In general, when a new console is released, its life span ranges in between 7 to 10 years. Usually, the last 3 years are the adaptation ones in which people shift from the previous console to the new one. Some decide to do it early, others later. But, from experience, we say that later is better simply because you have more options. When a new console comes out not a lot of games come out with it, but within a year or two you would have enough titles to keep things interesting.

So let’s look at the dates for the PlayStation: the first one launched in 1993, followed by the PlayStation 2 which was released in 2000 and which is known as Sony’s number one selling console ever. The PlayStation 3 hit the market in 2007 and the 4th console came in 2013. Now we can also see a slight change in the release date for the PS 4, since it should have been launched one year later to complete the 7 year cycle. But Sony has already made haste with its newest model.

In theory, we should be expecting the PlayStation 5 around 2020, maybe 2019 at max, but if things move with the same speed with which they have moved until now, we might see a PlayStation 5 by the end of 2018, which is three years away from now. Needless to say, Microsoft are not going to stand down and wait for the competition to steal all the glory (again) and they will make a move to release the Xbox Two as well.

There are also rumors that these new consoles might get backwards compatibility starting with the day you purchase them, which is huge and would be a welcome feature given the fact that all previous consoles have had this negative review. Let’s get ready for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two. It doesn’t look like we have a lot to wait for after all.
