Acer Has Just Rolled Out Two New Chromebooks For School Use

January 21, 2015 By Lori David Leave a Comment

Acer Has Just Rolled Out Two New Chromebooks For School Use Acer has just rolled out two new Chromebooks that have been developed for educational use. Besides the common features of a cost-agreeable, cloud- supported portable, these gadgets have one unique gimmick to brag about: strength. Since these notebooks are aiming school use, Acer has furnished them with a couple of gimmicks that enhance the toughness of the Chromebooks to withstand the wear and tear of day to day school use. Acer extends its line of Chromebooks with the Acer Chromebook C910 and Acer Chromebook C740. Both devices have a tough outline and offer a reasonably- priced, simple to-oversee platform for student activities. The new Acer C910 and C740 can be spotted today through January 24, at BETT 2015 in London in the Acer stand.

The Acer C910 has a stretched l 15.6-inch screen and is perfect for labs and classrooms where it might be used by multiple students at the same time. The Acer C740 has a compact design with a 11.6-inch desktop that conveniently fits in a rucksack for users who take it home for one –on- one projects and also in classroom and lab settings.

Eric Ackerson, senior product manager, Acer America noted that Acer Chromebooks are already appreciated as a proven platform for effective learning as they are being used by buyers to team up, undertake research and  work on  school or college assignments in an interesting new manner.

The official added that the two newcomers offer recently upgraded long-lasting outlines that can deal with significantly more requirements that are common to the instruction environment. Both Chromebooks can withstand 60kg of force and have strengthened pivots for good solidness in the rough schoolroom setting.

Additionally, schools can convey and deal with these new platforms cost-viably, rapidly and safely, so the focus remains on student achievement, as indicated by Ackerson.  Acer leads the Chromebook section with roughly a 40 percent global market share, as per Gartner.

With respect to specs, users can choose between Intel Broadwell-based Celeron or Core i3 processors and either 2GB or 4GB of RAM in both.

The standard-model C740 showcases a 1,366 x 768 display, 16GB SSD and a 9-hour battery life for $260. The more expensive C910 extends the same resolution out over 15.6 inches and ensures 8 hours of battery for $28. However spec can be altered to incorporate a 1080p res and 32 GB of memory. The new Chromebooks will be accessible in the US in February.
