The New Nintendo Amiibo Toys Are Coming for the Wii U Console

June 11, 2014 By Brandi McCants Leave a Comment

new nintendo amiibo toys When it comes to gaming, it seems that nothing stops Nintendo to keep its edge as a pioneer in the field. Known as a trendsetter and as a follower of new trends and perspectives, Nintendo has some aces down its sleeve and today we are going to tell you everything about them.

Welcome the new Nintendo Amiibo toys, the latest sensation coming for the Wii U console! During the E3 event, Nintendo broadcasted an announcement that left everybody in awe: they are going for the toys – to – life opportunity, aiming to create a line of interactive action figure toys to interact with a lot of Nintendo games, past and future.

This concept of introducing toys into games is definitely not new. It was pioneered by Activision’s Skylanders franchise and it was taken to the next level of competition by Disney’s Infinity last year. But in comparison with these two challengers, which make possible the use of toys into their own respective games, Nintendo wants its Amiibo toys to take life in all Nintendo games. Let’s see what specialists have to say about this:

Amiibo characters will work with a variety of Nintendo games, starting with the upcoming Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U but soon to include the likes of Mario Kart 8, Mario Party 10 and more. Amiibo figures gain skills and level up over time, but gamers won’t control them directly. Bring your Amiibo Mario into Super Smash Bros., for instance, and you can fight against him, pit him against other players, or include him on your team. You won’t fight as him, however. You’re essentially raising an army of personalized Nintendo mascots cleverly tucked away in beautiful molded plastic.

How can you give life to the new Nintendo Amiibo toys?

Nothing simpler: purchase one or several toys, place them on the Wii U Gamepad and “teleport” them into the game. This is possible due to the revolutionary near-field communication technology.

Although this trend is not a new one, in the hands of Nintendo will become the best next thing in gaming with the help of the Wii U console. Not only that Nintendo showcased 10 such Amiibo action figures, but with this opportunity, the company will revive the Wii U console in ways we can’t even begin to understand.

Nintendo has big plans for the future of gaming. If you already managed to find out about the new Zelda game teaser and learn that this year Nintendo is going to release a pile of games, you understand that the new Nintendo Amiibo toys are going to be a hit.

The interactive toys line is a financial gold – mine the company wants to exploit, as past revenue success registered by Activision and Disney suggest the world is more than ready to invest in the toys – to – life trend. Stay tuned to the news, as Zelda, Super Smash Bros and other games are going to become available this year and there is always something new about Nintendo!
