Cars Worth 130 million Dollars Sold At Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction

Cars Worth 130 million Dollars Sold At Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction Nowadays car industry is all about hi-tech super cars, self-driving vehicles or highly connected autos. But shoppers still appreciate an old-school classic model. And this was seen yesterday at the 2015 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction. One thing is for sure, when it comes to cars, old don’t come cheap. The event closed with sales worth 130 million dollars cashed for 1,611 (unaudited) cars on January 18. Top –sellers included both American and European models, mostly from the forties, fifties and sixties.

Exclusive and rare Ford Mustangs personalized by auto legend Carroll Shelby were some of the pieces of this fortune trove from Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The impressive sale displayed the company’s record number of relegated vehicles, with more than 1,600 cars on the square, including the famous Ron Pratte Collection and the Salon Collection. 15 years back, Barrett-Jackson barters were practically only about the stupendous classics from the 1930s. This year the Arizona barters displayed quiet a lot autos from the 1980s and 1990s.

Craig Jackson, director and CEO of Barrett-Jackson emphasized that the 2015 Scottsdale closeout was probably the largest –scaled one in 44 years of history.  He bragged that the auction crushed all the possible records from sales value to appraisals on Discovery and Velocity.

The event started with a gala and kept on building fervor with biggest auto consignment ever, including the offer and sale of the Ron Pratte Collection on Tuesday.  Jackson added that everybody who went to the current year’s Scottsdale closeout was a part of car history.

Apart from the record-setting sales, a record number of auction-goers went to the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale for an opportunity to buy from the extensive variety of American muscle, European classics, fascinating sports autos and unique personalized items.

The 1967 Shelby GT500 and the 1969 GT500 spiced the auction up. Other important models included the 1958 Plymouth Fury which stared in the film Christine, a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing, a 1991 Ferrari F40, and significantly more Shelby vehicles.

In fact the top selling car at the auction was the Shelby Cobra 427 Super Snake from 1966. The car sold for $5.1 million. Another 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 Roadster managed to get a bidder to take $1.595 million out of his pocket.

Important sales were scored with a 1954 Pontiac Bonneville Special Motorama concept auto and the Boyd Coddington-made”Whatthehaye”, which brought $3.3 million and $671,000.

Furthermore, various European brands were got also ranked in the top 10 cars rundown bought at Barrett-Jackson auction 2015. The top-priced European labels incorporated a dazzling 1949 Talbot-Lago T-26 Grand Sport Franay which got $1.65 million and an unblemished Mercedes-Benz 300SL “gullwing” which was purchased for $1.1 million.
