Blackberry Q10 Release Date In US – To come with T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T and Sprint

June 3, 2013 By David Crozier 1 Comment

Release dates of the BlackBerry Q10 is being eagerly anticipated by US based enthusiasts who would rather go for a smartphone that is QWERTY based and has a physical keyboard to type on than being full touchscreen enabled. The Q10 is already a market reality in some parts of the world including the UK and Canada, both of which happened to be the launch countries. In the UK the device has sold like hotcakes since its launch. Now it is going to be the turn of those based in the US to pamper themselves with the latest BlackBerry Q10.

Subscribers to T-Mobile service would be the first to get the Q10 when it launches in the US. The tentative launch date is set at June 5th with the pre-order process already underway for business customers. Verizon subscribers though need not despair since the QWERTY enabled Q10 will be arriving at the Big Red juts a day later on the 6th of June. The carrier too is accepting pre-orders for the Q10 where it has been priced at $199.99.

AT&T has also started up a page where its subscribers could place pre orders for the Q10. Pre-order requires users to register and the time when the service provider receives their lot of the Q10, the same would be made available to the customers. Release dates when the carrier would be able to give its customers the real gadget is however not yet mentioned on the site.

Sprint, the other network service provider of reckoning in the US has been silent on the BlackBerry Q10 issue. Once again no dates been given with only a promise of being available before summer this year being indicated by them.

Interested customers would need to keep eyes and ears open for checking out the date of release of the Blackberry Q10.

BlackBerry Q10 vs BlackBerry Z10 – RIM BB 10 Phones Design, Display, Battery, Specs, Camera Comparison

May 31, 2013 By Nicholas Anderton 1 Comment

Having lost ground to Apple and Samsung in the smartphone market, RIM, the BlackBerry maker, wanted to make a comeback with the latest BlackBerry Q10 and BlackBerry Z10. The two handsets are conspicuously distinct from each other yet bear equally innovative features. How do they compare against each other?

bb-q10-bb-z10

Design

Both devices flaunt the distinct BlackBerry look that has always appealed to the business class.  The Q10 features BlackBerry’s classic physical QWERTY keyboard, the main selling point of the device. The Z10, on the other hand, is fully touch-sensitive device, with a super-fast virtual keyboard. Both keyboards have auto-correct and next word functionalities. While the Z10 keyboard wins, the Q10’s ergonomically sound keyboard also excels with its grooved keys and metals frets between rows to allow easy strokes.

In terms of design and build quality, the Q10, with its carbon fiber rear and aluminum details is superior to the Z10, which features a plastic rear cover. Q10 bears a steel band in the center, a glass-weave rear plate, plus Kevlar coating, making it durable and rendering a premium look. Its curved edges are convenient in the pocket as well.

Measuring 4.71 x 2.63 x 0.41 inches, and weighing 139g, the Q10 is slightly broader, thicker and heavier than the Z10 which measures 5.12 x 2.58 x 0.35 inches and weighs 138g. Either device is comfortable to hold.

Display

Q10 has a 3.1-inch screen above its physical keyboard and offers a screen resolution of 720 x 720 pixels with a pixel density of 328ppi. Z10 has an all-touch 4.2-inch screen, with a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels and pixel density of 355ppi, perfect for streaming videos. Its higher resolution provides better contrasts, colors and images compared to the Q10.

Hardware, Processor and Connectivity

Each phone features a micro HDMI and USB port, power button and metal volume control-button.

The features under the hood are similar as well. Each is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 2GB RAM. The 16GB onboard storage capability can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD slot.

The BlackBerry 10 Operating System is the major advancement in either device. It allows both phones to offer similar functionalities, be it multi-tasking or playing HD video. The processor is apt for the revamped OS, allowing both phones to run apps in quick succession without any glitches.

In terms of connectivity, both support Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and 4G. Both are available on Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile and Sprint. The Z10 is available on AT&T as well.

Camera

Both Q10 and Z10 share the same camera feature – an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera. Both offer 1080p HD video recording.

Battery

The Q10 and Z10 each have a 1,800mAh battery. However, the smaller screen of Q10 provides better battery life compared to the larger display of Z10.

Pricing

The Q10 is priced at $249.99 while the Z10 costs $199.99.

Q10-Z10

Conclusion

BlackBerry has a reputation for its security features that have widely appealed to corporate customers. The advanced BB10 platform brings the BlackBerry Balance feature, which allows users to keep corporate apps separate from personal data. In other words, both Q10 and Z10 flaunt improved functionality for business users. At the same time, both can stream videos and play games with equal zest.

When it comes to making a choice, the Q10 is probably best to organize one’s work calendar and emails. Further, Q10 is the best device for those who fancy the physical keyboard. Those who have been using a BlackBerry as work phone and an iOS or Android device as personal phone, the Z10 can be the perfect replacement, serving as a work cum personal phone.

Though all-touch devices are the norm in today’s smartphone market, BlackBerry’s latest physical keyboard version seems to be doing well. Will BB Q10 and BB Z10 bring back the lost splendor of RIM and sustain the momentum if they do? It remains to be seen.

Verizon BlackBerry Q10 Ready for release (RIM)

May 26, 2013 By Micheal Baptiste Leave a Comment

The Verizon version of BlackBerry Q10 is likely to release in early June as evident from a screenshot of Verizon’s Inventory listing of the device. The screenshot spotted by N4BB shows the BlackBerry Q10 Nashville in the carrier’s inventory under the “buy order” section for smartphones that Verizon is currently offering.

BlackBerry_Q10_verizon

In addition to Verizon, Q10 is arriving on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. The Verizon’s version of Q10 will come in both black and white colors. While the standard black model features a glass-lustered rear, the special white model sports textured plastic. The former boasts a premium feel, while the latter gives a better grip.

Analysts are expecting a June 6th release of Verizon’s Q10 based on calculations that a device once listed on a carrier’s inventory system, will be made available two weeks after that. While T-Mobile has mentioned that Q10 can be acquired for $99.99 with $20 monthly installments (for a total cost of $579.99), Verizon and AT&T have not released pricing details. Sprint has not yet revealed its Q10 details.

Except for the color variations and rear panel, Verizon’s Q10 has the same features as Q10 models on other carriers. The main features include the BlackBerry 10.1 OS, multitasking functionality, HDR camera option, 4G LTE support, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.

The BlackBerry Q10 is RIM’s flagship QWERTY smartphone for this year. Q10’s physical QWERTY keyboard is touted as the best among smartphones. Though the AMOLED display is only 3.1 inches, the device is the best choice for those drawn to the classic keyboard. Despite the release of an all-touch version – the BlackBerry Z10, the QWERTY version has made it to the forefront. In an era where touchscreen phones are the fad, Q10 seems to be chiseling out a market for itself.

Blackberry Q10 Release Date In India – To Debut in the Last Week of May

May 16, 2013 By Daniel Giordano Leave a Comment

The new Blackberry Q10 is all set to make its India debut soon. The smartphone which is the second to run the company’s latest Blackberry 10 operating system recently went on sale in the UK and Canada. The smartphone has received a far better response than the full touch screen enabled Z10 also running the new BB10 OS. What seems to have worked in favor of the Q10 is the incorporation of the QWERTY keypad which makes the old timers feel instantly at home with the device. Blackberry is known more for its QWERTY enabled smartphones with its Blackberry Bold being an iconic device in this respect.

blackberry-q10

Coming to its availability in India, the online retailer Snapdeal has already put the device on pre-order where one can place an order for as low as just INR. 1,000. That translates to roughly about $18. The device though hasn’t yet been provided with an official price tag though that is coming soon enough considering the phone is set for an official release on the last week of May itself. What this means is that one will have to hurry and place an order for an assured delivery as the Q10 has had a better opening than its peer, the Z10.

As for its specs, the Q10 comes with a 3.1 inch super AMOLED touchsceen display that boasts of a superb pixel density of 328. The device is built around a dual core 1.5 GHz Cortex A9 chip that works in conjugation with a 2 GB RAM. On-board storage amounts to 16 GB though there is also a microSD card slot as well that maxes out at 64 GB. The Q10 also comes with a 8 megapixel rear shooter complete with a LED flash as well as a 2 megapixel front facing camera. Other cool features the Q10 comes with includes face detection, image stabilization, geo-tagging and so on.

BlackBerry Q10 Release Date – UK Stock sold out in Hours as US Waits its Release

May 11, 2013 By Micheal Baptiste Leave a Comment

With its U.S. launch scheduled for late May, the BlackBerry Q10’s recent Canada- and-UK launch made a hot start selling in thousands per hour.  Selfridges, UK’s only Q10 retailer during the launch period, sold its entire stock of Q10 devices within two hours of release. It described the sale as the “fastest-selling consumer electronic products ever” across London, Manchester and Birmingham.

blackberry-q10

BlackBerry did not reveal the official sale numbers, but sources say that exporters were purchasing 20 plus unit-lots.  The high sales volume suggest that BlackBerry’s business users, who have preferred its keyboard models, rather than full touch devices, are snapping up Q10 models, despite their launch with little advertising compared to the Z10 handsets.  Another amazing fact is that Q10 is costlier than the all-touch Z10 and high-end devices, such as iPhone 5 and Samsung’s Galaxy S4.

The all-touch Z10 and physical-keyboard Q10 models represent a major comeback effort of RIM, the BlackBerry maker, after a year of poor financial performance. The success of the Z10 model, BlackBerry’s flagship touchscreen device, released early this year was less than expected.  This has led to high expectations from the Q10 which, from the UK launch, seems to be showing promising prospects.

RIM has been excited to pull off with its BlackBerry 10 smartphones, expecting its new operating system to create a revolutionary effect on smartphone technology. RIM officials have touted much about the unique features of BB10, which provides a single platform to manage BlackBerry, iOS and Android. Plus, the system lets you handle corporate data and personal content separately.

With all this, is Q10 really reigniting RIM’s competent role?

Blackberry Q10 Off to a Good Start in the UK and Canada – Analyst Predict Same Performance In US

May 6, 2013 By David Crozier 2 Comments

Blackberry had launched its Z10 model just a few months ago in the UK and Canadian market. The smartphone though had a very bland demand which in turn had translated into bleak sales in both the countries. That however did not deter Blackberry from coming out with their next model, the BB Q10 within a very short gap. This one is a QWERTY based smartphone and launched recently is the same UK and Canadian market. The makers had indeed taken a big risk which though proved worth it at the end.

blackberry-q10

Launch of the Blackberry Q10 in the UK and Canada occurred recently and was an instant success. Selfridges in the UK was the only retailer that had the smartphone for sale till this past weekend. They reported having gone out of stock in just two hours after sales began for the day. Bulk orders from exporters ensured the BB Q10 to be picked up in batches of 20 units each. Blackberry, on its part hasn’t come out with details of how many of its Q10 smartphones were sold though with 2000 of the smartphones having found buyers within just two hours of going on sale is proof enough of these being a big hit.

The next key market for the BB Q10 will be the US. With the smartphones already having received some sales success in the UK and Canada, this no doubt will have a positive effect on the smartphone’s appeal in the US. Exact dates for the launch of the BB Q10 in the US have not yet been confirmed though. Tentatively, it is expected to be the later part of May 2013. Price of the item in the US also has yet to be officially declared.

Is the BlackBerry Q10 Loosing Its Charm? Find Out Why

April 12, 2013 By Micheal Baptiste Leave a Comment

Today, most people already know that BlackBerry Z10 is not as popular as before. It has lacked the charm which once attracted a lot of people and this is because of the release of the Xperia Z. Its other competitors like the Samsung Galaxy 4 and the HTC One also had taken the light making the Z10 look bad. In order to catch up in the game, Blackberry released a QNX BB10 Operating System which is great for various Blackberry users. This new addition in the Black Berry universe is a great addition and will certainly brighten up your day.
nseries_black_front-1
The best thing about the new BlackBerry is that the device will have the Crackberry and lucky owners will be able to order this new Qwerty phone that to Carphone Warehouse. This UK based retailer will be the one who will be distributing the handheld device for the public. As for the price, buyers will need to pay $913 for the product. The Q10 is a thumb thumping machine which is great for people who enjoy Qwerty phones. It has a dual core system and a small AMOLED display as well as a great Operating System. However, speculations have been spreading about the problems with the device’s OS. Numerous reports suggested that the device for the speed does not match its strong Operating System. However, that scenario changed since the Q10 will be using Crackberry.

Regardless of the problems with the BlackBerrys interface, users will still be buying the product in order to simply try out how to work out over the Qwerty keyboard and how the programs work. Of course, BlackBerry comes with its own set of programs which will specifically run better in a Qwerty environment. The programs can be downloaded through online BlackBerry sites. The device also runs better than in several other phones.

BlackBerry Q10 Release Date on Sprint – But Need To Wait For Z10

March 7, 2013 By Nicholas Anderton Leave a Comment

BlackBerry enthusiasts are finally over the frequent leaks and rumors concerning the release date and features. Finally, there is some news about the flagship smartphone. For those planning to buy 4.2-inch flagship smartphone, there is good news.

It has been officially confirmed by the Canadian brand that the highly awaited BlackBerry Z10 will get released on at least three of the four major US carriers. It is just a matter of weeks before the Smartphone hits the shelves in US.
nseries_black_front-1
AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon have officially announced that Z10 will arrive on their shelves once the device hits the US shores. Sprint has been missing in action till now but has started showing some interest. But perhaps we won’t get to see the gadget arrive on Sprint’s network.

However, there is still some good news for the Sprint and BlackBerry enthusiasts. Instead of the Z10, customers can go for BlackBerry Q10, the latest QWERTY handset. Those who find BB design philosophy interesting will love Q10.

It is one’s choice as to what carrier and BB model one is looking for, depending on every individual’s needs. Of course it would have been best if BlackBerry Q10 and the Z10 would’ve been delivered on Sprint. BlackBerry Q10 will go on sale in US sometime in second quarter. Hopefully, we will see Sprint in some kind of action during that timeframe.

BlackBerry Q10 is one of latest models of BlackBerry supporting 3.1 inch display with 720 x 720 pixels resolution and works on 1.5GHz dual core processor. There is 16GB of built in storage and 2GB of RAM. The 2 megapixel front-facing camera supports 3x digital zoom and the 8 megapixel rear camera comes with 5x digital zoom.

Expect Sprint to launch BlackBerry Q10 nut not BlackBerry Z10 and we will see it on its shelves sometime in May.

BlackBerry Q10 Gets Touch and Go Feature, Helps typing in long Emails And Chatting

February 19, 2013 By Nicholas Anderton Leave a Comment

The physical QWERTY keyboard is what sets the BlackBerry Q10 apart from other modern smartphone counterparts. This is a useful feature especially when typing in long emails or chatting. But there is one more feature that proves to be even more advantageous and this is Touch and Go.

Q10 has some tricks up its sleeve and one of those is the Touch and Go. The user just has to type in email, followed by a contact name. This triggers off a set of commands and now you can write an email to whatever contact you want. The feature works with Linkedln, Facebook, Twitter and more.

One of the major benefits of BlackBerry Q10 is that those keyboard buttons are always available. This seems like a blend of a quick launcher and
universal search. While on the homescreen, you can type in any action you want and get right into the action right away. So, you are able to take that action fast with this Touch and Go feature. The feature is pretty cool and is much like a Universal Search.
nseries_black_front-1
The BlackBerry Q10 is an iconic gadget that is simply great for a fan of physical QWERTY device. Built with high quality materials and having a great finish, the typing is swift and accurate. You will love the bigger ergonomic BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard.

You will also love the stunning touchscreen display display, which is the biggest ever on the QWERTY device. The information is displayed wonderfully on the screen and thanks to that powerful BlackBerry 10 software, you can take fast action and get faster responses.

The battery is will last you whole day and the browser is fast and you will love the rich media experience. With meticulous detailing in its design, the unique glass-weave material of the Q10 makes it not only thinner and lighter but also stronger.
