Nvidia has confirmed the long awaited new HTC Nexus 9 tablet and they said that it will soon be released although no official dates are yet to be known. Nvidia released this great piece of news in their legal filing on the much discussed lawsuit against Samsung and Qualcomm. Nvidia sued the two tech giants due to alleged infringement of graphics patent. Nvidia wants to remove Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Note 4 from the US shelves.
Although they didn’t say too much about the upcoming HTC Nexus 9 Tablet, what they said was enough to get a lot of people excited: “The HTC Nexus 9, expected in the third quarter of 2014, is also expected to use the Tegra K1.” This means that the third quarter of 2014 is getting closer and closer and we’re guessing the new HTC Nexus 9 Tablet will be for sale somewhere in November. Finger crossed. Although Nvidia didn’t reveal many details about the new tablet, there have been plenty of online leaks saying that it will come with 8.9 inches 2048×1440 resolution display and an Android L operating system. Because it’s a Nexus device we’re assuming that HTC will not make any changes to the software.
The HTC Nexus 9 Tablet has been codenamed “HTC Volantis” and it’s expected to feature an 8MP rear camera and a 3MP front camera. It’s also said to come with an optional 4G LTE support and 2GB of RAM. There are rumors saying that it will have 5GB of RAM. We really want to believe that will be the truth.
HTC Nexus 9 Tablet price and availability
Nvidia hasn’t yet announced any official release date but it is likely to be launched around the same time as the next iPad Air. They didn’t say anything about the price either but rumors have it that the HTC Nexus 9 Tablet will start around $399.
