This isn’t the first time the HTC One Mini is at the center of a leak story though this one could mark the end of the long rumor saga surrounding the smaller cousin of the current HTC flagship device. Consumers in UK can expect to see the HTC One Mini handset available in their region in the first week of next month. HTC themselves have not announced anything to this effect till now which means the above is to be classified as strictly a rumor.
All of it originated from the Twitter account of Vizileaks that mentioned the date of August 9 as the release date of the HTC One Mini, which was picked up by Pocket-lint. As for the credibility of Vizileaks, it had successfully predicted the launch date of the Nokia Lumia 1020 much before the device was officially announced.
An early August release of the HTC One Mini has been talked about for quite some time now and there is also the issue of the HTC One Max being rumored for a release in September. The HTC Mini is not going to be the flagship model from HTC, but there is considerable interest that the device has evoked. A number of buyers are said to be waiting to try out the HTC One Mini which appeals with its smaller and more manageable design as well as a more affordable price tag. Even HTC too seems to have joined the leak game by posting a picture of the device on their website only to be removed soon thereafter.
Meanwhile, in what could be a coincidence or a deliberate attempt, LG too is believed to launch its Optimus G2 device on the same day at an event planned in New York. There could probably be a strategy at play when HTC tries to release their One Mini device the same day as the Optimus G2.
