We know Italians stick to their own. So it comes as no surprise the Italian Carabinieri Police car fleet has just been updated with the new and surprising Italian Alfa Romeo, Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde (QV) model.
The Fiat Alliance distributing the two new models has been joined by Angelino Alfano and Sergio Marchionne, the Interior Minister, respectively chief executive officer.
The FCA will also distribute Alfa Romeo Giuliettas and Jeep Renegades to the Italian Carabinieri Police.
These high-tech police cars will be mainly used in Rome and Milan.
The 300 km/h fast Giulia Quadrifoglio has a front-rear 50/50 weight distribution and a 510 horsepower energy coming from a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine made by Ferrari.
This beauty queen is able to reach 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, the equivalent speed of 190 mph.
Its speed is used for multiple purposes. It is lighter than an ambulance and has a defibrillator available. So this means the QV will serve not only high-risk situations the police encounter but also medical situations like urgent transportation of transplant organs to patients.
The fast car is built for life or death situations that can be backed up until further medical assistance is available.
Diplomats will also benefit from the Giulia Quadrifoglio’s muscle and horsepower, being escorted in their various diplomatic ceremonies or delegations.
Although its exterior does not allow a good interior space estimation, the QV can easily accommodate heavy military gear.
Criminals should not want to be face to face with this high tech machinery. With a manual transmission of 6 speeds, an HQ radio and mounted tablet for the passenger seat, the LED light on the roof and siren system should be the least of their worries.
The outside of the QV is designed with the white livery and dark blue and red associated with the Italian military police. For the past two decades, the Italian Police have used Alfa Romeo sedans, and it is believed in the next years they will order thousands of Giulia Quadrifoglios.
This new road magnet and gadget, the 300 km/h Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde will fight the battle against criminality with speed, power, and technological advantage and be the envy of the police force all over the world.
