As of today, Facebook officially announced that they have broken a deal with the Royal Bank of Scotland in a new an enterprising project. The Royal Bank of Scotland employs Facebook at work, giving all employees all-access to the features of Facebook.
The initiative of RBS, backed up by Facebook, comes in in order to reduce the number of LinkdIn users all over the network and to give Facebook an advantage. It widely known that large company that employ the use of a social network for its employees tend to rely more on an integrated package like LinkdIn, that comes together with Microsoft Office. Another monopoly that RBS plans to disrupt is that of another social media called Chatter.
This campaign is part of the Facebook at Work initiative, started by social media giant Facebook. Also, Facebook announced that starting in January, Facebook initiative of making their platform available for iOS users will enter the pilot stage.
According to the number, up until now, Facebook managed to amass approximately 1.5 billion users all over the world. Moreover, Facebook broke deals with over 300 business ventures such as Heineken and even Century 21 and now the Royal Bank of Scotland employs Facebook.
The man behind the Facebook at work campaign, by the name of Julien Condorniou, declared, in a press conference that their project it still in the early stage, but they are planning, somewhere in the near future, to reap the benefits from this enterprise.
Condorniou said that they are also planning to build up marketing and sales teams in order to accommodate their Facebook at Work project all over the world.
Some here would ask the question, “Why can’t we stick to other social networks? Why Facebook?” The answer for this question is as plain as daylight. Because Facebook is not only the most used social media on the whole planet, but it has the capability of offering any user an interface that he can learn quite rapidly. Why bother using tedious and complicated intranet communication platforms when you can log onto your personal Facebook account and join a workgroup.
