Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Release Date in September – Possible Specs and Features discussed

June 28, 2013 By David Crozier Leave a Comment

The launch of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to be in September at the IFA 2013 event in Berlin. However, another report points out the arrival of Note 3 has been delayed till the end of September due to various reasons, one of which is the ongoing debate on whether it’s LCD or AMOLED screen that should finally make up the display of the new phablet.

The rumors regarding Samsung Galaxy Note 3 have been doing the rounds for the last couple of months and seems to have picked up pace as well approach its launch at the end of September. The device will eventually witness Samsung Galaxy Note 2 being replaced by Note 3 as the new flagship device from Samsung. Although there has been no dearth of rumors regarding the device, not much is known about the device.

From what has emerged over the months, the upcoming Galaxy Note 3 is likely to come with a 13 megapixel camera, (the S4 too features a 13 megapixel at the rear) with a 5.7 to 6 inch 1080p display making up the front. As for its processor, it can either be an Exynos 5 Octa or a Snapdragon 800 quad core chip or both powering different versions of the device. Rumor earlier suggested that this device might come with LCD display to either join or replace the AMOLED display, whereas a new report mentioned that Samsung could also release this phone with both the display types.

ETNews has also confirmed that Samsung has plans of adopting the LCD screen from Sharp and also use the AMOLED display as well. It can be expected that the reason behind such a decision could be the demand of LCD screens that are less demanding on the battery while allowing for accurate stylus inputs.

However it is quite surprising to see that Samsung has made an announcement about the arrival of Note 3 at the end of September. This is the first instance whereby such a specific date has been declared, although nothing is yet confirmed about the exact date of its arrival. All fingers are thereby pointed at early September IFA 2013 which clearly makes it possible for the release to happen at the end of the month since Samsung usually follow up an official launch with a market release in a month’s time.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Rumors Roundup – Makes Inadvertent Appearance

June 12, 2013 By Micheal Baptiste Leave a Comment

The next hotly anticipated Samsung Galaxy device is the Galaxy Note 3, the successor of the highly successful Galaxy Note 2. While analysts are expecting the device to show up in September at the IFA event in Berlin, it made an inadvertent appearance on Samsung Kazakhstan website for a short while. The listing has vanished now, but tech blog Techtastic, which unveiled the news, posted a screenshot of the so-called VIP webpage to back its report.

The screenshot does provide convincing evidence that the Galaxy Note 3 is in the pre-launch stage, though it does not indicate an official announcement from Samsung. As for now, the device will launch in September and reach consumers by Christmas. In the U.S., the arrival of the device depends on carriers, as each carrier will release its version at its own time.

The 6-inch Galaxy Note 3 is expected to mimic quite a few design features of the Galaxy S4, one of the hottest selling smartphones right now. It will come with a Super AMOLED 1080p display, 13MP rear camera, 3MP front camera, the most recent iteration of Android Jelly Bean and the S Pen Stylus.

Analysts expect the Galaxy Note 3 to come in two processor versions – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and Exynos 5 Octa eight-core versions. Samsung released its flagship Galaxy S4 in two processor variants, probably to prevent supply issues caused by chipset shortage. Some rumors say that Samsung may drop the Exynos 5 option for the Galaxy Note 3 due to time constraints, if it intends to take on Apple’s iPhone 5S.

The advanced camera features have caught the attention of many a Samsung fan. Along with the 13MP sensor, the camera is expected to feature optical image stabilization capability and possibly a 3x optical zoom if it can be accommodated in the slim profile of the device.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Rumors Roundup – Same Specs May Repeat in the Latest Edition

May 23, 2013 By Nicholas Anderton Leave a Comment

With the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 not likely to hit store shelves within the next couple of months, the intervening period makes it ideal for the rumor mongers to play around with the device’s yet unannounced specs. We have also been treated with some leaked specifications in the past, including the most recent one, that of an image that is supposed to have been shot with the Note 3’s 13 megapixel camera. That’s speculative though, as the leak mentioned the picture has been shot with a device codenamed GT-N7200, one that seems to come equipped with a 13 megapixel camera.

Galaxy-Note-3

Now the Note 3 has also been rumored to carry a 13 megapixel camera. Further, the model name GT-N7200 can also be associated with Note 3 considering the current Galaxy Note 2 sports the model name of GT-N7100. This apart, the Note 3 has also been rumored to carry a 1.6 Ghz processor while running Android 4.3. Interestingly, the GT-N7200 has again been spotted, this time in an AnTuTu benchmark test that mentions the device to run Android 4.3 while having a 1.6 Ghz chip. The current S4 is also powered by a chip having the same clock rate though the software is a future Android version that expected to be launched in June.

However, coming to the practical side of it, benchmark tests can always be tampered with so there is no surety it’s the GT-N7200 that indeed has been referred to in the tests. Maybe we will come across with a few more of such considering the phablet is still being tested in its various configurations. There is still some time for the phablet to be launched with rumors pointing out Samsung might choose the IFA event in September to launch the device. It will be really interesting to see how things pan out in the future.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Rumors – All about its Display size and Type

May 14, 2013 By Mary Duncan Leave a Comment

The display to be used on the Samsung Galaxy Note3 has given rise to a lot of speculative discussions. The gadget is slated for release sometime later in the year. The rumors hint at the display being of 6 inch which is larger than that of the Galaxy Note 2. Worth mentioning here, the latter has been one of the most popular smartphone model from Samsung which means the Note 3 will have to hit the ground running or risk being mauled by its own predecessor. Also, if the Note 3 indeed comes with a 6 inch display, this would make it the biggest smartphone Samsung has ever released.

Note 3

Leaked information which provides juice to the rumors, hint at the display on the Samsung Galaxy note 3 having 1080p resolution and the processor being Exynoz 5 Octa. It would also have a camera of 13 megapixel. The display type is also a matter of discussion with the options of LCD, AMOLED and then there is the unbreakable flexible display which Samsung had displayed at the CES event held this year, called the Samsung Youm which could see application on the Note 3.

Also adding to the rumor is a recent report by the Korea Investment & Securities mentioning the 6 inch gadget from Samsung is coming up this year.  The report also mentions about Samsung’s inability to get their Youm display ready in times for the launch with the Galaxy Note 3. For this reason they say, Samsung would go for the OLED technology based display unit. This bit of information shelves any idea of the Galaxy Note 3 coming with a Sharp IGZO display unit.

Previous rumors had pointed out Samsung testing out three prototypes of its Galaxy Note 3. One having an AMOLED display, one with their Youm display and there is a third display which is not yet known about. Release of the Galaxy Note 3 can be expected to happen before the IFA 2013 event which is scheduled to be held in Berlin. That sets the approximate month of the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to be September.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Rumors – Will It Feature a Unbreakable Display?

May 6, 2013 By Brandi McCants Leave a Comment

Following the debut of Samsung Galaxy Note 2, rumors about the launch of Galaxy Note 3 are making a lot of hype. Well, it’s not without reason, as Samsung is working on new display and CPU technologies that are likely to be featured on the Note 3, which could possibly make its launch in the 2013 IFA event.

The Galaxy Note 3 is expected to pop up with a more premium build quality. The Samsung Display Company is known to be working on introducing enhanced technologies into the market. Right now, the focus is on its OLED unbreakable display, which will feature an LTPS (Low Temperature PolySilicon) active matrix with a plastic substrate based on an RGB OLED pattern. The company is expected to commercialize the technology by the close of the year, probably after unveiling the Galaxy Note 3.
Galaxy_note_II_Marble_White
Samsung is also engaged in building new Mobile RAMs. Let’s not forget the Exynos Octa-core CPU, Samsung’s new eight-core CPU. The new processor has been designed specifically for high-end smartphones, phablets and tablets.

The main highlight of the eight-core processor is its energy-saving capability. The workload is distributed between two quad-core processors, with one assigned for heavier tasks requiring high processing power, and the other for lighter tasks.

While manufacturers are continuing to drive innovation, replacing existing prototypes with new technologies is not easy and it takes a lot of time. However, with better chips, unbreakable display technology, and high-end octa-core processor, Samsung seems well-prepared to make a mark in the market.

Samsung’s galaxy range of Android devices impressed the smartphone market, especially budget consumers. Innovation has pushed the company up to compete with Apple’s devices. With all this, rumors about the Galaxy Note 3 hitting the market in August-September are not surprising.

New Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Rumors: Might Come With New High Speed 4 GB RAM

May 5, 2013 By Mary Duncan Leave a Comment

Unconfirmed bits of information on the Galaxy Note 3 has begun to infiltrate online no sooner than the Galaxy Note 2 had arrived at the retail scene. Speculators have pegged the yet-to-be-announced device to be based on the Exynos Octa-core CPU which if true will make for a hell of a lot faster than the present version. Another very interesting piece of information which should add zing to the gadget is the display being made up of unbreakable material.
Galaxy_note_II_Marble_White
While this information would only be proved or disproved with time, there is confirmed news about Samsung making a new type of RAM for their mobile devices. In all probability these RAM would find their place in the Galaxy Note 3 when it is launched. The RAM which Samsung is in the process of building is of the 20nm 4 GB LPDDR3 type.

The specialty of the new RAM is the lower power requirement. They would have 20 percent lesser power requirement than the LPDDR2 RAMs. The transfer rate of the RAM is also much higher than the LPDDR2. While the LPDDR2 has a transfer rate of 800 Mbps, the LPDDR3 would be able to do the same at 2133 Mbps. The physical features of the new RAM also make them most suitable for mobile devices being very thin with a 2 GB package having a height of just 0.8 mm. Meanwhile, speculators claim the upcoming Galaxy Note 3 phablet to come with a 4 GB RAM.

However, there is no word yet as to when Samsung is expected to launch the new Note 3. Rumor has it that it can happen at the IFA 2013 event. This makes it the months of Aug to September as the most probable dates for launch of the Galaxy Note 3 from Samsung. Thankfully, that’s not too far ahead.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Rumors Round Up – With Unbreakable Display In Queue?

April 26, 2013 By David Crozier Leave a Comment

Samsung Galaxy Note 3, one of the most-awaited smartphones of 2013, is centered by a whole lot of rumors, some believable whereas others truly unreliable.

Samsung will probably build the beast with superior quality materials as compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 2. However, a particular eye-catching rumor is flooding the forums, which is about an unbreakable display to be used by Samsung in its Note 3.
Galaxy_note_II_Marble_White
This sort of display has been the base of rumors since years. However, none of the tech-giants have executed it yet.

Smartphone manufacturers always seek innovative technology but it consumes ample time to develop a new technology that would do well with users. Availability is an influential factor in this context, mass production and distribution of a newly-invented sample technology is difficult.

SDC (Samsung Display Company) is rumored to be focusing on inventing an unbreakable OLED display that would be put to mass distribution by the end of 2013. A Low Temperature PolySillicon active matrix would probably be utilized in executing this unbreakable display technology along with an RGB OLED pattern and a plastic substrate. The plastic OLED, rumored to be used in upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3, would be lighter and slimmer than the traditional glass OLED display used in Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

It is a bit illogical to expect Samsung to bring out an unbreakable plastic OLED display this year while it has initially utilized glass OLED display in Samsung Galaxy Note 2 just the previous year. Samsung may wish to continue with its recent and widely popularized discovery rather than expending in a more recent technology.

Even if Samsung uses unbreakable OLED display with plastic substrate, it would consume ample time to put the technology to mass production, thus threatening the availability of the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 3. It may hamper Samsung’s business as well as dissatisfy consumers. So, Samsung has to manage a lot, if it is willing to insert such a technology in its upcoming giant, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
