Fresh rumors regarding the Galaxy S4 Mini point out the smartphone could be seen sporting a dual core Exynos 5210 chip and not a quad core processor as was earlier rumored. This settles a long standing debate as to whether the S4 Mini would be powered by a quad core or a dual core processor. With some new inputs from Korea Investment & Securities, a dual core chip is almost confirmed. This apart, almost everything of the upcoming Samsung smartphone has already permeated online.
The phone will sport a 4.3-inch qHD display and an 8 megapixel primary camera. The phone will have plastic design and is likely to be provided with some of the software features that is part of the bigger Galaxy S4. Further, the CPU that is believed to be rated at 1.6 GHz means there will be enough of grunt on tap to ensure the S4 Mini is never found a laggard.
However, separate rumors that claim its only quad core based devices that will be able to run Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie does paint a glum future for the S4 Mini. For if this be true, the S4 Mini will only have one more update – Android 4.3 – before it hits a dead end. Needless to say these are just rumors at best right now though it will also be these points that consumers are likely to keep in their mind before splurging on the Mini S4.
Samsung is expected to launch the S4 Mini in July and is believed to have several other Galaxy S4 variants in the pipeline as well. These includes the water and dust proof S4 Activ and the photography oriented S4 Zoom.
