The Samsung Galaxy S4 has already emerged a big hit and rightfully so considering the impressive performance and feature set the device comes along with. Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T have already announced their Galaxy S4 package while there is also word about Verizon doing the same soon enough. The same applies to a few smaller carriers as well. However, Samsung is all too aware there is a constant need for improvements to be made to keep abreast in the fiercely competitive market.
Towards this, a new firmware update has been made available on 7th May with T-Mobile and AT&T currently offering the update to its subscribers. The upgrade from T-Mobile is about 169 MB and can be availed of either via the Samsung Kies or OTA. Consumers though are advised to make sure the gadget is at least 50 percent charged for a smooth installation process. What enhancements would be experienced by the user after the upgrade has not been detailed by T-Mobile. That it would give a better Voicemail experience and ISIS improvement are the only two aspects that T-Mobile have mentioned in their change log.
AT&T though is pushing a far slimmer update at just 21 MB. Once again AT&T changelog does not give any details of the upgrades that the user would experience post upgrade. Users who have completed the upgrade mentioned about faster performance while the animations also ran smoother.
Meanwhile, for those who might have still not received any official notifications so far, here is how to check if the upgrade is available for the Galaxy S4. The process is to go to Settings and select more followed by About Device option where the software update option would be highlighted in case the update is available.
