Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 Rumors Roundup – To have Intel Clover Trail Processor

June 2, 2013 By Nicholas Anderton Leave a Comment

In a bid to introduce innovation at every level, Samsung will be powering its Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 with the Intel Clover Trail 32nm SoC processor, according to Reuters. The mobile-specific chip from Intel is distinguished for its superior graphics performance over its predecessor, with CPU and GPU coexisting on a single chip.

Samsung has typically used ARM processors for its Android devices. It will be using Intel chips in its Windows-based ATIV devices that are expected to be announced at a premier event in London on June 20th. The new Intel-powered Android tab is likely to be announced at the event, though Samsung may choose to hold a dedicated event to unveil its next gen flagship tablet.

As revealed by Russian blog Hi-Tech Mail, the new tablet, codenamed Santos 10, is expected to feature a 10.1-inch TFT-LCD display having a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, a 3MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front camera. It is expected in 16GB and 32GB versions powered by a 1.6GHz processor with 1GB RAM. Measuring 243.1 x 176.1 x 7.95mm and weighing 510g, the tab will run on the latest Android 4.2.2.

Intel, which introduced the new mobile chip at this year’s Mobile World Congress, is trying to gain traction in the mobile market, having lost ground to Apple’s mobile iDevices. Its Atom-based chips have already been used in some Android devices.

Apple is still dominating the tablet market with a 40 percent market share, but Samsung has gained a 20 percent share in a relatively short span of time. With diverse sizes and specifications, Samsung’s tablets are a tough competition for Apple’s. Regarding the release date of Samsung’s third-gen tab, rumors say that it will arrive next month. Nevertheless, Samsung has yet to make an official announcement.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 Release Date – Specs And Features Inside

May 14, 2013 By Micheal Baptiste Leave a Comment

Samsung’s third-generation Galaxy Tab line-up seems to have more in store for us as evident from An Tu Tu benchmark results. While Samsung has already announced the Galaxy Tab 3 7, sources that have tracked the An Tu Tu benchmarks point to an unannounced Samsung device, which could probably be the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1

Well, how did they make the conclusion? The benchmark results show the presence of a device codenamed GT-P5200. As the codename GT-P5100 corresponds to Tab 2 10.1, it is assumed that GT-P5200 corresponds to Tab 3 10.1. It is all speculation however, because Samsung is currently using SM-Txxx code instead of GT-Pxxx code. Perhaps, the benchmarks are based on an older prototype.  Benchmark manipulations are also a concern.

The supposed Tab 3 10.1 scores in the benchmark results match with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 or Exynos octa-core, indicating the possible processor used in the Tab. The OS is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and the processor speed is 1.6 GHz. The device will feature a 3 MP rear camera, 1.3 MP front camera, 1 GB RAM, and a 7,000 mAh battery. The display will be a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800.

Weighing 533g and measuring 256.7 x 175.3 x 8.7mm, the Tab is expected to be thinner and lighter than Galaxy Note 10.1, which is Samsung’s flagship tablet right now. Techblog, a Greek site, expects the device to be amazingly smaller and lighter compared to the 9.7-inch iPad 4.

Coming to launch dates, the Wi-Fi version of Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 is expected in the 23rd week and the 3G version is expected in the 26th week. Techblog says that the tablet will come in 3G and 4G versions, with the former launching in May and the LTE version arriving in June-July.
