The new event section will let you choose how Facebook displays events near your location.
Are you by change a party person? If so, Facebook’s got an offer which will be very hard to refuse. Facebook will show gigs near you, thanks to the newly updated Events section.
Picture this: you are on a Sunday night, there’s nothing on TV, no games left to play and you’re not in the mood for NetFlix. What to do? What to do? It would be great if there was someone’s birthday or if there was a gig in town.
Well, Facebook has all figured out a solution to you Sunday night’s ennui problem. The tech giant has released a new update for the Apple iOS system, featuring a customized application for finding local events. Concerts, sports, fitness, nightlife, all of these things will be at the tip of your fingers with the new app which is expected to revolutionize the way we plan our social events.
Remember how the old app used to work? You are one day sitting on Facebook, mind your own business stalking your high-school crush when a wild event invitation appears. And as much as you want it to go away, it never does. In the old version, events seemed to pop out of nowhere and most of them weren’t in your taste.
But with the new update, things will be much more different. For once, Facebook managed to include a filter in the event section, meaning that based on your profile information, it is able to compile a list or two of events near your location.
Secon, you can turn the feature on and off whenever you feel like doing so. And as a little incentive, Facebook also included something of a timetable in the new app. That means that you can actually tell Facebook when to look for the event and where to look for it.
Say that today you’re not feeling very good or you have too much work to do. But you remember that you’ll be free next Sunday or Monday. Simply tell Facebook to search for event withing that time frame and you’ll be on your way to party next time you’re free.
Also, the new update has another cool feature. You can even take a gander at the upcoming events or currents event in your home location even if you are away from home.
It’s a good thing that Facebook planned to make this change regarding the event section, because, most of the time users will get bored at being assaulted by waves of boorish events.
