Blizzard promises a Nova story for all the Starcraft II fans who want to get to know the character a little bit better. The announcement was made on Friday, during the first day of BlizzCon, and a mini video was presented only to hint at Nova’s adventures in the expansion to come. This might be great news for players who were looking forward to Starcraft: Ghost, a game which was highly anticipated but got cancelled mid-production.
Starcraft: Ghost had this specific subject in mind: Nova. Who is the character? How do we get to know her? What are the problems that she needs to face in order to become a round character? Fans wanted this game and they wanted it badly, also because it was supposed to be Blizzard’s first shooter. But when the game got cancelled the community did not react well and we could say that this has gone down as a major disappointment in Blizzard’s history.
But now the gaming titan is coming back and wants to make it up for all of those who wanted to get close and personal with Nova and a Starcraft II patch will be enabled in 2016 which will feature just that: Nova, the character and her adventure. You will have a bunch of new weapons at your disposal, play as a stealthy unit, which is always cool and you will be able to unlock some extra goodies too.
The main issue is that not much info has been given about this expansion. It is understandable since Legacy of the Void is supposed to take the spotlight for the time being, but we do not really know too much about it apart from the fact that Nova will be a totally different experience compared to other Starcraft II units and that these events take place after Legacy of the Void.
In a short trailer that Blizzard released shows Nova waking up in a laboratory being watched closely by some sort of mechanized guard. When she puts her goggles on, she receives the messages “you are in danger” and “escape now”. She proceeds to cloak while the mechanized guard orders her to decloak and that’s about it.
Blizzard promises a Nova story that is going to be entertaining and satisfying for those who enjoy playing stealthy characters, but also to give insight into one of the most interesting Starcraft characters to date.
