Heard of the Ghost Security Group?

Heard Of The Ghost Security Group?

Have you ever heard of the Ghost Security Group? You might not have, but you would be pleased to learn that this is like a guardian angel taking care of the online environment when it comes to terrorism. It all started in July, when the group shut down a potential terrorist attack that was announced on Twitter. Dozens of lives have been saved because of the group’s intervention.

The group is rumored to be formed of IT specialists, hackers and individuals working with counterintelligence. They have been keeping a close eye on the Twitter account, suspecting it might belong to ISIS activists. The Twitter account did not have many followers, but it turned out that all of them were trained terrorists who were plotting attacks with the aid of this account.

As soon as things became clear, the group attempted to seek help from national defense organizations. It is so that they contacted Michael S. Smith. Smith is highly regarded in the Kronos Advisory firm, a defense consulting institution. Smith is known for his excellent work in terms of terrorism advising and he was the ultimate link between the hacking group and authorities who proceeded to take immediate measures.

And events unfolded according to plan. It turns out that the Twitter account did belong to terrorists, so they were tracked and arrested. Authorities have reported that a few dozen suspects were brought in for interrogations and ultimately locked up.

Smith proceeded to commend the group for their implication, stating that “without a doubt, this group has saved lives. At least into the dozens.” Smith also expressed his sorrow regarding the fact that these people will never receive public recognition because of their positions and for their own safety. “There are people working in the national security community… who will never be credited with that.”

As for ISIS, authorities are worried about how aggressively and openly they are approaching people from the West. Through the use of social media, ISIS is promoting their culture and ideas to anyone who would listen and, as long as they make things interesting and seem for the greater good, people will inevitably follow. This is the actual danger that should worry the rest of world right now.

Now you have heard of Ghost Security Group and you know how they involved themselves in saving dozens of lives. While ISIS continues to threaten the West, it is our moral duty to fight them back, a moral duty that has already been displayed by these anonymous gentlemen.
