Halo: The Master Chief collection was a highly anticipated game but the big launch and general joy related to it were replaced with frustration and impatience, as the servers failed to provide what players needed the most: reliable matchmaking in terms of joining matches and finding other players. As you may assume, the request for live updates for Halo: The Master Chief collection exceeded the developers’ expectations.
How can such an anticipated title flunk at its premiere? The answer is pretty simple. Since all interested gamers had the game pre – loaded, they managed to flood the servers in the first day, leading to incredible matchmaking ques which which reportedly lasted up to six hours. The Internet was also flooded with reports about broken multiplayer sessions and users had to put up with endless waiting.
The good news is that 343 Industries has taken immediate measures and has already started patching. Live updates for Halo: The Master Chief Collections are rolling out as we speak, in an attempt to ease the users’ pain, fix as many errors as possible and reduce the long delays.
There was also an X Box live service issue which slightly hindered a patch released in the U.K., but Microsoft also jumped in and stated that the company was already working with the X Box Live teams and their external partners to fix any problems users might stumble upon. Officials apologized and asked players to have patience and keep their faith.
Players who are still trying to get into the game need to know that further patches are on their way. According to the game developers’ forum updates,
we plan to roll out a number of server updates to help improve matchmaking. Again, these are server-side fixes, so you won’t need to take a content update or reboot your console; you should see the effects right away. In addition, we are targeting another release for this weekend, which will address a number of other community priorities.
343 Industries Executive Producer Dan Ayoub also stated that the company’s professionals are working around the clock to provide the Halo: Master Chief Collection players the game experience they deserve and a high – quality product that is worthy of its reputation and its users’ love and respect.
On the bright side, if you can’t still join the multyplayer sessions, you should know that the single player campaigns are working just fine and until the other issues are fixed, you can take your time and explore the game and its awesome features. Since the live updates for Halo: The Master Chief Collection are being done on the server side, players just have to sit back and be patient enough until they get full access to the fun part of the game.
