As if computers are not facing enough competition with the tablets that are hitting the market, the new PaperTab is sure to be a big seller. A collaboration between Plastic Logic and Intel has yielded a new paper thin tablet that is unlike anything we have ever seen. At today’s CES conference, the new tablet was unveiled giving interested parties the first look at the new innovative tablet that is bendable and features a 10.7 inch display.
Not only does the tablet contain features that allow it to be bendable, but its bendable features provide access for even more options. You can bend a corner or bend the entire screen back to utilize the different features on the tablet. There are a lot of functions users will need to adjust to that are very
different than the way they utilize other tablets and computers. Each feature on the tablet is displayed in a new tab instead of in one display.
Users have familiarized themselves with the metal and glass type feel of their gadgets. Going back to the feel of holding a piece of paper will feel a little weird to some users. Those who like to stay up to date on technology will sure be jumping on the new tablet, while many will wonder if its fragile feel will be too flimsy to handle their needs.
This flexible display will not be the last of its kind. CEO Indro Mukerjee is just getting his feet wet with this new tablet. He plans to spend more of his efforts working on projects that can give buyers cool new technology that they are always craving. The new PaperTab is just the start of where technology is moving away from the metal-like feel and into something much more easily to manage.
