You are not advised to quit your job just yet, but the dream of many video creators may soon morph into reality.
On Tuesday, Twitch unveiled Stream Summary and Twitch Achievements in a blog post. The Achievements feature was first announced last month. According to the site’s definition, “achievements are milestones that encourage creators to learn streaming best practices and interact with their communities.”
Twitch claims that the new feature could offer streamers a “roadmap” to check if they have what it takes to become a partner or affiliate. Your income will continue to be largely based on the number of followers and people tuning in, but the new feature will make things a little clearer.
With the new roll-out, Twitch just proved that their ‘Creators first’ slogan is not just empty rhetoric. In October, the company unveiled three new features for streamers. One of those features, Raids, was launched immediately after the announcing.
The Achievements and Summary were rolled out this week. According to the website, the two new features were the result of creator input who requested more transparency when it comes to earing money from their hobby.
The new tools will benefit all creators as many of them see achieving the Affiliate or Partner status as “the dream”.
Stream Summary is an improved stream analytics tool which will display all previous streams on a single page. The list includes information about stream success, traffic sources, streaming tips, achievements, and most-watched clips.
